− The Live Furniture Factory: DREMA for children is a testing ground for practical skills for students, but above all it has a noble goal − says Krzysztof Wiaderek, PhD Eng., project coordinator on behalf of the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology at the University of Life Sciences in Poznań.
In 2022, the factory will operate under the slogan ‘DREMA FOR CHILDREN from Ukraine’. Furniture produced during the four days of DREMA will be sent to the Lviv Centre for Rehabilitation and Education DREAM, where children from orphanages in Lugansk and Donetsk are currently staying.
The production plan assumes the production of thirty sets of furniture for a children’s rooms. The set includes:
- bed with a mattress,
- a wardrobe,
- wall shelves.
So you will be able to see live processes: processing of furniture boards, wrapping narrow planes, surface finishing of wooden elements, assembly, segregation of fittings and packaging of components.
− Due to the fact that the furniture produced during DREMA will go immediately to Ukraine, we plan the production and packaging of components and elements − explains Wiaderek.
− The Live Furniture Factory is a charity initiative of the DREMA Fair. As in previous years, we declare full openness to the needs of companies and organisations that will join the DREMA FOR CHILDREN from Ukraine campaign − says Andrzej Półrolniczak, Director of DREMA.
The organisers invite Partners who can support the action in the field of new design and technological solutions, management, organisation and maintenance of production.
The Live Furniture Factory is a joint project of the DROMA Association of Manufacturers of Woodworking Machines, Devices and Tools, staff and students of the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology of the University of Life Sciences in Poznań, and Grupa MTP.
The DREMA International Trade Fair of Machines, Tools and Components for the Wood and Furniture Industries will be held from 13 to 16 September 2022 at the fairgrounds of MTP Poznań Expo.
