Organizer:

DREMA 2022: we constantly promote the wood and furniture industry

Share

The DREMA International Trade Fair of Machines, Tools and Components for the Wood and Furniture Industries, is a real sensation among other world exhibitions. A wide variety of topics and a high level of substantive debate are the hallmarks of the event. DREMA is one of the few such large and important events held even during the epidemic crisis. The number of exhibitors and partners participating in DREMA grows year after year, which proves that the fair is needed all the time.

„This year, together with our Partners and Exhibitors, we will be writing the third chapter of the history of the most important meeting for the wood and furniture industries in Central and Eastern Europe. Why is this the third chapter, if the DREMA trade fair has been held for almost 40 years? Because the events of 2020 caused us to create the DREMA trade fair almost from scratch to adapt it to the current situation, even though the reputation of the event remained unchanged. As I’ve been working with the DREMA trade fair since its first edition, firstly as an advisor, and now as a director, I have witnessed many events that contributed to the historical changes and greatly influenced the current form of the exhibition; the year 2020 was unprecedented, it irrevocably closed a certain stage in our lives and presented the industry with several new challenges, and thus set new tasks for us as the organizers of the event. In order to fulfill those tasks, we had to stop looking back and focus on ensuring the constant promotion of the Polish wood and furniture industries, regardless of the situation,” says Andrzej Półrolniczak, the director of the DREMA trade fair.

The DREMA trade fair is primarily a place where the business community meets. However, there will also be a special place for woodworking enthusiasts. The aims of this year’s DREMA trade fair include:

  • A cross-sectional presentation of machines and programs that optimize production,
  • Automatization of production processes in practice,
  • Ways to reduce the share of labor costs through mechanization of processes,
  • Energy-saving technologies and implementation of environmentally friendly solutions in production facilities,
  • A wide variety of options for DIY and woodworking

Substantively – for business

The conversation on the issues most important to the industry will begin on September 12. That is when the Polish Economic Chamber of the Wood Industry is holding an international conference – KOOPDREW. This year, presentations and discussions will cover the following topics: the economic condition of the wood industry in Poland, the impact of the war in Ukraine on the wood industry in the Baltic countries, and the economic situation in the UK after BREXIT. During the conference, representatives of Bank Pekao S.A. will introduce the latest report on the wood industry. On the second day of the DREMA trade fair, the 7th edition of the Polish Furniture Congress will be held, organized by the Polish Chamber of Commerce of Furniture Manufacturers. The Chamber will also prepare the 4th edition of the Meeting of Women of the Furniture Industry.

The DREMA trade fair is a Partner of the international scientific conference DREWNO-NAUKA-GOSPODARKA organized regularly by the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Poznań Institute of Technology. Alan Crivellaro and Henrik Hartmann will be the guests of honor at the conference. This event is affiliated with the European Forest Institute, and the sessions that will take place on the second and third days of the event (September 14-16) will be held on the premises of the Poznań International Fair.

On September 15, 2022, the EUROPEAN B2B WOOD SUMMIT will be held. The summit will feature presentations by owners and managers from Poland, Lithuania, Ireland, Australia and Sweden. The topics to be discussed during the summit include the trends and challenges of the supply chain, artificial intelligence, and ERP and MRP for wood product inventory and sales. The guests will learn about innovative solutions and practices that are already in use in other companies.

Comprehensively – for visitors

The list of must-see points at the DREMA 2022 trade fair is getting longer and longer every day. It is worth taking the time to visit the Parquet Zone organized by the Polish Parquet Layers Association, the DREMA TOOLS point and the Polish Championship in Nail Hammering.

A large part of the exhibition is devoted to woodworking, hand tools and power tools. This might be interesting not only for professionals, but also for DIY enthusiasts. Especially for them, there will be the DREMA HOBBY point and zones prepared by the team of Narzędzioholicy and drewno.pl. In addition to the machine presentations, demonstrations of forklifts will be held in the outdoor area of the fair.

Experts, i.e. people professionally involved in the wood and furniture industry, can get a free ticket to visit the fair for all four days of the fair – they must go to HERE

Usefully – for future workers and to help those in need

Thanks to the efforts of the Association of Manufacturers of Woodworking Machinery, Devices and Tools DROMA and the cooperation with the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology of the University of Life Sciences in Poznań, a Live Furniture Factory will be presented at DREMA 2022. Students, under the watchful eyes of the professionals, will create cabinets and beds. The furniture will be produced and immediately packaged, as they will all be sent to Ukrainian children staying in orphanages in Ukraine or Poland.

“I hope that, as in previous years, against all odds, this year’s DREMA will be a celebration of the wood and furniture industry. We are organizing this event convinced of the value and need for live meetings. As our exhibitors say, “there is no business without relationships.” We would like to add that any adversity is passable if we are not alone in it. The situation in which our industry is at the moment shows us that DREMA is needed now more than ever,” says the Director of the DREMA trade fair.
