This year's DREMA International Trade Fair of Machines and Tools for the Wood and Furniture Industries (10-13.09.2024) will feature another edition of the DREMA FOR CHILDREN project. This is a charity event, carried out in the form of a live furniture production demonstration, organized by the Association of Manufacturers of Woodworking Machinery, Devices and Tools DROMA, the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology of Poznań University of Life Sciences and the MTP Group. Lazzoni Group is the executive partner.

The purpose of the event is to showcase the latest furniture manufacturing technologies using automated and robotic processes, which is combined with the noble aspect of the event - the children's furniture produced will go to the most needy children from orphanages in Poland. DREMA FOR CHILDREN is a unique charity event, promotional activities for partners and an arena of practical skills for students and schoolchildren.

The production plan, of automated and robotic technology, involves the manufacture of many sets of the most necessary furniture for a child's room, which includes a bed with a mattress, shelves, bookcases and storage cabinets. Wanting to make it easier to transport the manufactured furniture, most of the subassemblies and components will be packaged into answering packages.

The partners, students and pupils, working together in the demonstration furniture factory, produced more than 100 sets of furniture 120 pieces of packed low shelves, 100 pcs. beds, 20 sets of packed furniture for the children's room (closet, desk, upholstered bed), 20 sets of packed furniture for the youth room (closet, desk, shelves, upholstered bed), 20 sets of sensory furniture fronts for the youngest under the “KidsLikeUs” grant, and 60 sets of plywood formats prepared for the refurbishment of beds in the youth center.

This year, an area of about 2000 sqm will be put at the disposal of the Drema for Children Action, supported mainly by students of the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology, which is a consistent area with the DREMA fair.

The production includes the process of processing furniture boards, veneering narrow planes, refining the surface of wooden elements, assembling and segregating hardware, packing sub-assemblies and elements and preparing for shipment including warehouse logistics. Mention should also be made of systems for designing structures and managing and monitoring production processes.

The Drema for Children campaign is not only a promotional activity for partners. Demonstration furniture production is an arena of practical skills for students and, above all, a noble cause. The furniture produced during the fair will be donated to the Local Government Nursery in Myślenice and the Youth Education Center in Jastrow.

The Furniture Factory Live will be created thanks to cooperation with the executive partner Lazzoni Group. The company has created an offer to meet the needs of all segments of hardwood furniture production:

We know how valuable entrepreneurs' time is, which is why we have created a fully comprehensive offer that handles every stage of furniture production and combines the process into a compatible whole handled by one man [...] Both smaller, single-production plants and larger factories, producing longer series, will find a range of inspiration from us. You will be able to treat the solutions we propose as ready-made and comprehensive to be implemented in your factory, and you will be able to use individual components in parts, one at a time. The use of technology that will replace up to 12 workers in a single production process will make it possible to produce about 2,000 components per shift, at a lower production cost.

The DREMA International Trade Fair of Machines, Tools and Components for the Wood and Furniture Industries will be held on September 10-13, 2024, at the MTP Poznan Expo

As part of the event, we design and make furniture for children. During each edition, our goal is to implement NEB values: sustainability, beauty and community. We transmit NEB values to design and art students, who design and make furniture under the supervision of architects and manufacturers. The products are then donated to orphanages and aid centers for charity.
