The DREMA International Trade Fair for Machinery, Tools and Components for the Woodworking and Furniture Industries is set to undergo a real revolution, thanks to the new project director, Łukasz Rachubiński. He will draw on his many years of experience and knowledge gained in organising events for the woodworking and furniture industries to introduce a new format for the event.

The new director of the DREMA Trade Fair has been with the Grupa MTP for over 15 years. During this time, he has gained extensive experience in the comprehensive management of B2B trade fair projects. Among other things, he is responsible for organising the EKO-LAS Forestry, Wood Industry and Environmental Protection Fair – a specialist event aimed at the forestry sector. He gained an understanding of the specific nature of the furniture industry earlier, whilst working on the MEBLE POLSKA and INVEST-HOTEL trade fair teams, where he was responsible for liaising with exhibitors. Until 2016, he also served as deputy director of the GARDENIA International Horticulture and Landscape Architecture Fair, which covers the themes of structural timber and landscape architecture. His skills in event development, programme design and the effective promotion of industry projects will be a huge asset in his new role.

DREMA Fair open to small and medium-sized enterprises

- The difficult situation in the woodworking machinery sector has had a significant impact on this year’s edition of the DREMA Fair. In order to continue to serve as an effective platform for exhibitors and visitors to engage with the market, and as an attractive venue for showcasing the latest technologies, the event needs a fresh start. “We will soon be presenting our partners with a concept for far-reaching changes to the format of this trade fair,” says Łukasz Rachubiński.

The new director intends, among other things, to place significantly greater emphasis on developing the exhibition of woodworking tools and components for furniture production. – We want to enrich the range of products and services on offer at the fair for small and medium-sized manufacturers. Large, operational machines and robots always attract a lot of attention from visitors. But most smaller companies cannot afford such solutions. We want this segment of the woodworking and furniture industry to also find an attractive offering for itself at DREMA – explains Łukasz Rachubiński.

Networking and workshops as a key component of the trade fair

There are also plans to introduce new networking events into the trade fair programme, aimed at key visitor groups. The fair’s training and advisory potential will also be developed. – Technological progress in the wood and furniture industry is happening very quickly. The use of artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly widespread. DREMA aims to be the best place for specialists to update their knowledge on the latest solutions and trends. This is our priority,” adds the new director of the DREMA fair. Measures will be taken to strengthen DREMA’s position in international markets. To this end, the Hosted Buyers programme for key international clients will be relaunched.

Changes to the fair’s format will be introduced following consultation with exhibitors and representatives of the main visitor groups. – We are listening to the voices of industry representatives, who rightly highlight the need for significant changes to the event’s format. We plan to implement solutions that meet the needs of our visitors, increase the diversity of the offering, and expand the substantive content. We want every participant at next year’s DREMA Fair to leave feeling enriched with new insights and knowledge that will help them develop their professional activities,” explains Łukasz Rachubiński.

At the same time, we would like to thank the outgoing Director of the DREMA Fair, Andrzej Półrolniczak, for his many years of fruitful cooperation and dedication. His initiatives and efforts have contributed significantly to the development of the fair and the building of its reputation within the woodworking and furniture industry. Director Półrolniczak continues his work as Poland’s delegate within the European Federation of Woodworking Machinery Manufacturers (EUMABOIS) and as Chairman of the Board of the Association of Manufacturers of Woodworking Machinery, Equipment and Tools (DROMA). We wish him every success in his new professional challenges.
