DREMA CHILDREN'S FINALE 2024
During this year's DREMA International Trade Fair of Machines and Tools for the Wood and Furniture Industries (10-13.09.2024), another edition of the DREMA DZIECIOM project took place. This is a charity event, carried out in the form of a live furniture production demonstration, organised by the DROMA Association of Manufacturers of Woodworking Machinery, Devices and Tools, the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology of the Poznań University of Life Sciences and the MTP Group. The Lazzoni Group is the executive partner.
At 11:00 a.m., a press conference summarising this year's activities was held in Hall 6. Andrzej Półrolniczak, director of the DREMA trade fair and president of the DROMA Association, was the first to speak at the meeting:
- I would like to extend a very warm welcome to everyone, in particular to the young people involved in this action, who will decide the history of the Polish wood and furniture industry in the future. DREMA FOR CHILDREN is a clash of two seemingly incompatible words. Drema is one of the world's 10 largest international trade fairs for woodworking machinery and equipment, this year supported by Eumabois (the European Federation of Manufacturers of Woodworking Machinery and Tools). It is an event featuring global brands presenting the latest technologies. Participants include the largest representatives of Polish furniture and woodworking companies. It is also a meeting of people who are not indifferent to children who need our support,’ said the director, ’The DREMA FOR CHILDREN project was born from the hearts of DREMA participants. Today we are in a very difficult time, as it is the time of crisis. It is affecting both the wood and furniture industries. This translates into a difficult situation for sales of woodworking machinery and equipment. In fact, most partners today are counting every penny, but it is the slogan DREMA FOR CHILDREN and this beautiful charity project that makes them find the funds, time and energy to participate in this action from the heart - without looking at their financial situation [...].
Without partners, without the support of these people, no beautiful idea - even one born in our hearts - would make sense. This project is not easy, as it is difficult to organise such a production in the trade fair halls. This year we managed to build the largest factory to date, located in three locations, in collaboration with the Lazzoni Group and Infotec. [...] Almost 300 pieces of furniture will be produced during the days of the fair, which will leave Poznań and be delivered to children in need from care facilities. I would like to thank the volunteers - students and pupils - who are able to find the time to also help their younger colleagues sometimes in their very difficult lives. My sincere thanks to all of you for putting your heart and efforts into this project.
Dr Krzysztof Wiaderek from the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology at the Poznań University of Life Sciences, coordinator of the campaign, also gave his speech:
I would like to welcome the esteemed group of partners, without whom this campaign would not exist [...]. I would like to thank the Tak Po Prostu Foundation, without which there would be no purpose of this action - thank you for pointing out to us the centres we can help. Our whole industry can integrate here, it is one big family that can help children in need. Of course, this would not have happened without the students and pupils, their involvement in this action. Many thanks to everyone for their support and mobilisation. The production is going on all the time and our ambitious plans will be realised. I am proud to be part of this action. I thank the MTP Group for allowing us to use all this fair space. We are working on.
Jarosław Szlachetka, Mayor of Myślenice, also appeared on stage:
I am proud that as a local government official I can also be part of today's event. Thanks to your commitment, thanks to the Lazzonia Group company, the furniture will equip the Myślenice local government nursery. I am pleased that the partners of the fair care not only about the development of their company and industry, but also about our youngest citizens.
This year's campaign would not have taken place without all our partners and sponsors, who donated their materials to the worthy cause. These companies are:
