DREMA 2025: Gold Medal for Leaders of Innovation in the Wood Industry
During the ceremonial opening of the DREMA Fair, the winners of the MTP Group Gold Medals were honored with statuettes. The Competition Jury also awarded special distinctions: the Grand Prix and the Eco Prize. The winner of the Gold Medal – Consumers’ Choice competition was also announced.
What do precise cutting tools, intelligent machining centers, energy-efficient wood drying systems, and modern heating boilers have in common? All of these solutions were among the winners of the DREMA 2025 Gold Medal – one of the most prestigious awards in the Polish wood industry.
This year, the expert jury, chaired by Professor Jerzy Smardzewski of the Poznań University of Life Sciences, selected 12 products that stand out not only for their advanced technology but above all for their real impact on the development of the sector. The awarded solutions show that the future of the wood industry lies in the synergy of innovation, precision, and sustainable approaches.
As the chairman emphasized, the jury took into account that today’s manufacturers of furniture and wooden products expect not only new and original solutions but also those that are economically attractive and easy to implement quickly, and the level of the products submitted for the Gold Medal was indeed both competitive and balanced.
One of the distinctions went to ITA TOOLS for the ITA TOOLS Circular Saw Blade. As Marlena Baranowska-Węgrzyn, Marketing Coordinator at ITA TOOLS, explained: “The key element of our saw blades is the specially designed tooth geometry, which ensures high cutting quality, longer tool life, and lower energy consumption. In addition, we use top-quality carbide from the renowned company CERATIZIT, optimally matched to the type of material being processed. This solution significantly increases the durability of the saw blade and the resistance of the teeth to chipping.” This product also received an additional award in the Gold Medal – Consumers’ Choice competition.
Grand Prix
The jury also distinguished the ProNest Automatic Machining Center by SERON Sp. z o.o. Sp. K. This automated machining and labeling center is dedicated to the furniture industry, especially for manufacturers of case furniture and upholstered furniture, but it can also be used in other industrial sectors.
Wiktoria Kaczmarek from the company added: “The biggest innovation of ProNest 2025 is the automatic feed table with a suction and positioning system, a storage system that holds boards up to 700 mm, and the ability to label and mill simultaneously. The result of these solutions is reduced gantry load, greater accuracy and dynamics of work, no risk of scratching the boards, and a significant increase in process automation, which limits operator involvement and boosts efficiency.”
Eco Prize
The jury also recognized the product that best fits current trends related to implementing eco-friendly business solutions. The Eco Prize of the MTP Group went to the AUTONUT CNC 400 M6 – Automatic T-Nut Insertion Line by BizeA Sp. z o.o.
“The AUTONUT CNC 400 M6 automatic T-nut insertion line is a minimalist yet highly useful and innovative solution for the upholstered furniture industry, which effectively minimizes production costs, saves human labor, energy, and technical resources,” explained the chairman in his verdict.
The jury also distinguished the 1306 PRO Heat Recovery System by MUEHLBOECK HOLZTROCKNUNGSANLAGEN GmbH. It reduces heat demand by up to 25% and lowers electricity consumption thanks to innovative heat recovery and efficient air management.
“With our 1306 PRO Heat Recovery System, we achieve energy savings of around 25%, which not only reduces operating costs but also makes an important contribution to sustainable development and environmental protection,” added Martin Rauber, Sales Manager at Mühlböck Holztrocknungsanlagen GmbH. He also emphasized the importance of the DREMA fair as an ideal platform for the company to present innovations, promote the exchange of experience with experts and customers, and further expand partnerships.
A similar view is shared by Bożena Bizoń of FELDER GROUP POLSKA Sp. z o.o., who confirmed that for them, the DREMA Fair is above all a place to meet with customers, as it is the best way to reach them and convince them of the company’s products during live presentations.
The company received a statuette for the tempora F1000 straight-line edgebander, which redefines the standards of comprehensive edge banding and combines exceptional stability, precision, and efficiency for maximum productivity.
Among the laureates was also FREUD S.p.A. Societa Unipersonale, which the competition jury honored with as many as three medals for innovative products such as the LU3D Circular Saw Blade + scoring blade, the LU5H Circular Saw Blades for aluminum and PVC profiles, and the Freud Brazed Cutter Sets – Piano Set.
Piotr Smolaga from the company praised the awarded products: “The LU3D blades are a bestseller of the Freud brand. They use the most modern technologies such as the Silver I.C.E. coating and the anti-vibration system. In addition, the wide range of sizes of both blades and scoring saws allows for use in almost all machines available on the market. The LU5H circular saw blades combine decades of know-how with new technologies such as nickel coating. They feature higher surface smoothness and tooth impact resistance, as well as excellent finishing of the blade body and noise reduction.”
